WHY GO:

Both Santa Monica and Hollywood are two of LA´s most famous landmarks. Starting at the foot of Hollywood you follow smaller and larger roads, slightly downhill, on Route 66, through Beverly Hills on your way to the beach. 

 

DESCRIPTION:

This tour starts in Hollywood, and after you´ve seen the stars at Walk of Fame it can be nice to jump on a bike. The first part passes through residential ares on smaller sideroads. From West Hollywood the bikelanes runs along Santa Monica Boulevard. It´s always a lot of traffic here, so you need to be comfortable with cars passing close to you.

At Beverly Hills it´s a nice variation to follow the park as you get out of the traffic for a periode.  

 

Along the tour you will see green bike signs and also the historic Route 66 signs. The last 5 kilometers the route is back on smaller residential roads again. And at last - the Pacific Ocean appears and you can enjoy the beach, the fair at the pier or just strolling around downtown Santa Monica.
