WHERE ON EARTH?
WHY GO:

Follow the LA River as it changes from dry, harsh concrete to be more filled with water, greener and lusher before it ends in the ocean. Best of all - no traffic!

DESCRIPTION:

This tour starts in Culver City. You can get here by the Metro E-line or bike from Santa Monica - see connecting route here. There are bikeracks from Metro Bike Share located in Culver City.

The beginning of the route is very good prepared for cyclists on good marked lanes. You will soon get connected to the river. The river itself doesn´t remind much of a river in the beginning. It´s a concrete waterway that´s usually dry, but it´s easy to cycle and no traffic! It´s called Ballona Creek Bike Path.

Soon you will see the Culver City Stairs - a popular hiking route, on the other side of the river where pedestrians can walk to Baldwin Hills.

The bike path continues as it changes karacter and gets more green, more waterfilled and you will see more people out walking, running and cycling. You will reach the Marina del Rey, the fishing pier and finally the beach.

From here you can go south or north to continue the ride if you like.

Have a great trip!
