FROM KOLSÅS TO BÆRUMS VERK AND LOMMEDALEN
Norway East: Viken, Bærum

WHERE ON EARTH?

WHY GO:
See the best part of Drammens riverside, follow old railtrails to great views over the fjord as you pass strawberry fields and apple tree farms!
DESCRIPTION:
Drammen is a great place to start a bike tour. You start by crossing the award-winning pedestrian bridge Ypsilon before you follow the paths on the riverside.
After you cross under the main road you will soon find yourself on the old trail track that´s been transformed to a great tour path. It will take you upwords easy and gently and you may share the road with a horse or two!
As you pass Lierbyen the view is getting wider over the surrounding areas and there are plenty of benches to take a rest.
Going down the Gullaugkleiva is a steep downhill so be aware if you travel with children. If you want to take a swim, the short detour to Gilhusodden beach is recommended. Make sure you also get a rest at the great viewpoint/sitting sculpture at Fjordparken, before returning to the city.
This tour has been described going as a roundtrip clockwise. It´s also possible to take it the other way, but that will give you a very steep hill upwards.
Have a great trip!
